I also tried out the scs.3d mapping last night with mixxx 1.7. I would like
to voice an opposing opinion: keep the mapping as it is (or very similar).
Unfortunately for those that value simplicity, this is just the way that the
scs.3d was designed to be used. I am also a traktor user and the mappings
that Stanton has developed using their own middleware product (DaRouter...
basically a repackaged version of Bome's Midi Translator) the preset works
very much the same way. There are multiple modes per "button" on the
device, and also the device remembers what mode was active on each deck.
I think that the power and flexibility of the scs.3d comes mostly from the
fact that you can create a complex mapping file like the one currently set
up in mixxx. I am not opposed at all to having a "simple" mapping file
available for the scs.3d as well, though.
If you like the EQ sliders, have you found the EQ reset functionality yet?
If you hold down the EQ button and touch any of the EQ sliders, it will
re-center that band to 0. Very slick, very well laid out.
There's my $.02. Keep up the good work, guys!
