Lately I've been spending hours compiling qt4 on windows with the result of mixxx crashing right in the first qt calls, so I'm less inclined to compile qt4 from source on my debian notebook.
Besides, I doubt that QT can speed up as my fix does. VUmeter updating may happen 20 times per second with wVuMeter using repaint, and only 3/sec with update, a total speedup of factor 7 (3 vumeters still take 50% of mixxx' cpu usage).
