Just a note that some of us do have the reference docs for all (at least, 
many) of the hercules devices. I don't know about the ability for us to make 
them public, but if necessary we can find out. It might make working with the 
mappings easier (that said, afaik, they work now.) But, some internal 
documentation would be nicer. For example, something defining the behaviours 
of 'jog' vs. 'wheel', what the various 'Rot*' things are, and so forth.

Oh, sorta related to this, something I noticed last time I played with it: 
Mixxx starts up assuming all controls are in their default position. This 
doesn't necessarily reflect reality. I'm pretty sure there is a command that 
can be sent to the device to make it provide the current state of all the 
controls. Do we have the facility to do this at some point during startup?
