I can only speak for myself, but I think if someone has the ability to
write magical code, it should be put to use in the more basic (boring)
features that we really need nailed down.  I'd rather have rock-solid
bpm detection, EQing, tempo-changing, looping, and library search than
some interesting, but half-baked features.  So to me, it's a matter of
priority.

Obviously, if there's a developer who only wants to work on a certain
feature, no one will force them not work on it, or to work on something
else instead.  But if someone is interested in hacking on Mixxx I'd
steer them toward the areas that really need attention.
