Hey James,

I am able to run 1.7.0 and all the current development branches together 
fine. The main problem is that you need to pick one of the versions to 
be the 'resource path' that you use (i.e. what you link in 
/usr/share/mixxx). AFAIK we don't have a good solution for making one 
branch or another use different ~/.mixxx configurations. You may run 
into some issues when trying out the latest MIDI refactor code (not in 
trunk yet). Basically, skin formats, config file formats, and so on 
haven't changed drastically from 1.7.0 to the current dev branches. Of 
course, if you use the new library branch, your 1.7 library will not be 
read :P. The looping branch should work with no changes, but you should 
consider setting it as the resource path because the outlineNetbook skin 
has been updated to have looping buttons in the looping branch.
