Hey Pascal, Welcome to the mixxx-devel! We're always looking for new contributors.
Check out our wiki: http://www.mixxx.org/wiki/doku.php In particular the development roadmap: http://www.mixxx.org/wiki/doku.php/development_roadmap That should give you an idea of the main features we are looking at finishing, and when. The feature discussion page has some links to design documents we've written in the past, and has a mini-wishlist. http://www.mixxx.org/wiki/doku.php/feature_discussion Also, check out our bug tracker on Launchpad: https://bugs.launchpad.net/mixxx You should definitely get yourself up running the development version of the code instead of, e.g. 1.7.2. You can follow our guides for building on Linux, OSX or Windows that are on the wiki. The developers usually hang out on the IRC channel, #mixxx on freenode.net. It's a nice place to go and bounce ideas off of people, or to ask for help if you have issues building or questions about the code.
