I think the idea is that the team from Mozilla wants to pursue this for
their upcoming music hackathon. No core developers will be allocating time
to this.

I agree that we have a lot more important things on our roadmap and this is
way too experimental to justify spending time on. Even if we were to
complete it and make it awesome -- you can't even buy popular tracks in
this format.
