I'm writing to give an update on our progress towards Mixxx 1.11.0. There's
been a lot of exciting work sofar! If you're wondering what you can help
out with, here's the list:
*Projects that are pretty much ready:*
Waveform: A beta is available! Please check out and beta-test the sexy new
waveforms courtesy of Thomas Vincent. See this forum post:

AutoDJ : Daniel Schürmann's auto-dj improvement branch is in trunk now!
Session History : Daniel Schürmann's setlog branch is in trunk now!
VAMP Plugins: The branch is ready and has been tested a good deal by our
bleeding-edge testers. This is still on track for 1.11.0 but needs a little
more work and polish. Contact Vittorio or Tobias if you want to help out.
Mad Script Improvements by Madjester : Phil has a bunch of MIDI Script
improvements that are ready for review. I'm going to get on this soon!
*Projects that still need work:*
i18n/l10n improvements : In general this is getting the res/html pages and
skin tooltips translatable.
Multiple Decks and Sync: Code-wise we need to polish things up and
eliminate cases where we aren't n-deck capable. Sync doesn't work with
4-decks in trunk. I made a very simple 4-deck sync manager in the
vci-400-demo branch but I think 1.11 needs something a little more advanced
and that was mostly a dirty hack.
External audio passthrough : Need to check in with bkgood but I'm not sure
of the status on this one.
HID Support: I'll let Sean explain what he needs help with here but as I
understand it there is still work to be done particularly GUI stuff and
polish.
Manual Translations : This project is looking for an owner! Basically we
just need to get the Sphinx translations into Launchpad.
*Projects that won't be in 1.11:*
Effects: There hasn't been any substantial progress on the effects
framework since I've been way more busy than I thought I would with work
and other projects. Unfortunately I'm going to have to let this one slip to
1.12 or later. Along with it the n-band parametric EQ are also slipping
since they depend on this.
As always, we have built up a bug list about a mile long from 1.10.0 being
in the wild, so if you don't have time to help out with one of these larger
projects feel free to pick off bugs on the

1.11.0 <https://launchpad.net/mixxx/+milestone/1.11.0> milestone pages.
In our 1.11 planning meeting back in November, we agreed on a tentative
feature freeze March 1st. It's clear we missed that since no new features
have merged into trunk yet. Taking a look at the branches that are ready to
merge I think we should get these into the hands of users ASAP so I'm
setting the new feature and string freeze date for April 1st. Our
translation and manual freeze will be April 25th and the tentative 1.11.0
release date will be May 1st.
