Of these, I would recommend using a MIDI clock because:

1) it's a well-understood mechanism, compatible with many different software and hardware devices from the 1980s to today 2) Mixxx could also be made to slave to an external MIDI clock for sync with external devices/programs
3) we have had a number of user requests for Mixxx to support MIDI clocking
4) the MIDI clock is represented as a BPM anyway (and sends 24 ticks per quarter-note IIRC) so a user could, when Mixxx is the clock source, either manually adjust this BPM value or set it to the auto-detected value on one of the decks. This is exactly how the Behringer DDM4000 DJ mixer works, as it too supports MIDI clocking for BPM, effects and external sync.
