Hello, everyone!
My name is Matt Mikolay, and I'm currently a freshman (rising sophomore) at
Rutgers University in New Jersey. I've submitted my application for Google
Summer of Code, and I'd like to get some feedback from the public. The project
I would like to tackle is vinyl pass-through, where a normal vinyl record can
be played as the deck output when using vinyl control mode. My proposal can be
found here.
What is everyone's opinion of deactivating waveform visualization for a vinyl
pass-through signal? And what about the precautions for activation and
deactivation of vinyl pass-through? The precaution I propose for deactivation
(ejecting any currently playing track) seems to be relatively intuitive and
straightforward, but a precaution to prevent the terrible noise of a timecoded
record from playing through the pass-through feature is a little more difficult
to think of.
All feedback and comments are welcome!
Thanks!
Sincerely,
mattmik
