mpd support sounds nice.

Out of curiosity how man songs are in your library?

Do you want to connect to the mpd server or just read it's library and
playlists. If you plan to connect to the server it would be best to
write a network-class that handles all network connections. This would
be nice to add last.fm/musicbrainz and similar stuff later on.
Clementine uses a custom interface to QNetworkAccessmanager for that.
