there are a two diferent solutions on linux that i know of.
http://www.pogo.org.uk/~mark/bpm-tools/ simple command line tool to find
bpm of a file.
minimalist and very fast.
http://www.vamp-plugins.org/ vamp plugins suite: fantasticly powerful fast
and accurate library of plugins usable in audacity, sonic-visualiser or
using the command line based vamp-simple host.
all the hard work has already been done!
