I am not exactly sure what your problem is about. But here some hints:

Mixxx features two play position control object:
"playposition" and "visual_playposition"

"playposition" is updated rarely compared to "visual_playposition" to avoid
flooding the Qt event queue see
void EngineBuffer::updateIndicators(double rate, int iBufferSize);

When dejerking the waveform display I see additional issues with frequently
Qt events. So
i have introduced a Visual play position class with a timestamp:
