Hello everyone,

I'm applying for GSOC this year and I wanted to say hello to this list.
I'm currently pursuing a masters degree in jazz studies at the New England
Conservatory of Music in Boston and I received a minor in computer science
from Harvard in my undergraduate studies. I'm excited to contribute to a
music related project and help DJs around the world.

I'm working on a proposal for implementing the loop functionality mentioned
on the project ideas. This would entail creating a loop module that can
record from different output sources, layer and sync the loops, and store
them somewhere in the mixxx interface, so that they can be called up when
needed. I'm working out more specific use cases and details about a
possible implementation and will share them soon on the list and in my
application.

When I try to compile mixxx on mac os x 10.8.3 I'm running into some
trouble getting scons to find the required dependencies. I installed the
dependencies using homebrew, and they all seem to have installed correctly
in /usr/local, however none of the libraries installed by homebrew are
found when I run scons. I set the compiler paths mentioned on
http://mixxx.org/wiki/doku.php/compiling_on_os_x to what I believe are the
correct directories, so I'm at a loss as to why it is not working. Any
tips would be appreciated. I feel like there's something obvious that I'm
missing, since everything is currently failing.
