Yep -- we realized the description was confusing. The focus of the project
was not on writing metadata. The "tagging" in the project description was
not referring to file metadata tags but instead is referring to managing
and organizing tracks within Mixxx. Mixxx can already read tags from all
formats we support using taglib and writing tags was implemented but has
been disabled due to concurrency issues (as you pointed out).

etc.) and music metadata of your library. Syncing file metadata back to the
files could be a sub-feature of this project but all that code is already
in place, it's just blocked on the aforementioned concurrency issue.

For bulk edits, is it typically the case that the selected tracks belong to

It's up to you to propose how it should work! Make sure to outline the
various use cases and show how your design serves them.

I would say that only being able to bulk-edit tracks within one album would
be quite limiting so I would suggest that your proposal handle the case
where the user wants to bulk-edit multiple unrelated tracks.

Make sure to play with the existing track editor to see what you're
starting from (or replacing).
