Either way go for it -- discussion about whether and how it should be done
will happen on the bug report so everyone will see the history of the
discussion.
We've needed a general area / toolbar to represent status lights (sound
connected, recording, shoutcast, vinyl control, CPU usage, etc.) for a
while now.
