I used Mixxx out for the first time last night and I am very impressed with
the overall stability and usability of the programme.

I have setup Mixxx to be controlled by a Novation Launchpad, which was also
pain free and very effective.

I was able to control Mixxx from the Launchpad all night except for 3
circumstances which I think should be submitted as feature improvements in
order to make Mixxx even better. I hope that this is the right place to do
that and that these suggestions are taken in the spirit that they are
intended which is to share my experiences of using Mixxx rather than sound
demanding!

1) Rather than using the Auto DJ list to Auto DJ I use it as a space to
store songs which I'm planning to play (kind of as a Now Playing list).
However, there doesn't appear to be a midi assignable command for adding
songs to this list - instead one has to drag-and-drop with the mouse or
right click and use the contextual menu. It would be ideal if I could use
the launchpad to navigate through my crates and playlists and then simply
press another button to add that track to the Auto DJ list ("Load selected
track into Auto DJ List").

2) When navigating through a long list of songs doing this one song at a
time can be time consuming. The "scroll to next track" commands would be
brilliantly complimented by a scroll +10 command which would help you to
get down the list more quickly by skipping 10 tracks at a time (this number
could also be defined within the preferences so that the user could change
it).

3) I used the fast-forward and rewind buttons to scrub through the track
and find cue points. This worked ok for the beginning of tracks where I was
just trying to cut out a bit of silence, but whenever I wanted to be more
accurate I needed to use the mouse. It would be ideal if there were a
second set of buttons for finely stepping through the track (a bit like the
function of a jog-wheel). This would enable the setting of very accurate
cue points and streamline the process of setting cue points.

So to sum up:

* Add a "load selected track to Auto DJ" option to the list of assignable
midi commands.
* Add a midi assignable +10/-10 scroll functionality to improve navigation
of library.
* Add a second set of fwd/rev controls that offer more accurate setting of
cue points and which are midi assignable.

I hope that it is possible to change these things easily. I would do it
myself if I had the first clue as to where to start.

Thanks
