Crazy idea, what about annotated track markers? Hotcues without hotcueability, a dj would position the track where he wants a marker, click a button or do something to drop a marker, which pops up a text entry box, he enters in a short label, saves, and it appears before the marker.
Markers might include things like "Start mixing here" or "Drop here" "Phase 2 starts here" "Vocals start here" "Vocals end here" etc.
