Hi Waylon,

thank you for the report. Such issues should not happen and we should iron them out before the release.

On my Ubuntu Trusty 64 bit system the current head isn't that hungry.
What is your setup?

Is there a special event that turns Mixxx into a hungry hippo?
Eating CPU / GPU / RAM are all different issues.
Do you have a receipt how to start eating of one of this resource?
Anny info about that might help.

Are there suspicious entries in the mixxx.log?

Starts the eating reliable on you system with head but not with an older revision? If yes, you may use http://git-scm.com/docs/git-bisect to find the faulty commit.

Thank you for your help.

Daniel

Wow, Mixxx HEAD is one hungry hippo. Can't run a webbrowser (with flash loaded), Second life and mixxx comfortably, without the risk of out of memory crashing or cpu/gpu saturation. Unfortunately, ill have to pull back my mixxx to pre-soundrefactor i think, until either the resource problem is fixed, or I and my wife get a boarder here, for i can't afford to run a machine (apparently) for web stuff, while djing. Other than that out of memory crash, and the m4a undefined symbol bug, HEAD was fantastic. Well done guys and gals!
