Hello, Last spring we discussed about Mixxx contest but that didn't realized. It was mainly that I didn't get anyone bigger DJ-name to interest with issue also my possibilities to use my private time were sucked to near zero but it's new spring and we have 15cm snow in Finland so new ideas are starting to rise. Idea is mainly the same get more people involved with Mixxx because not everyone can code/write documents but they want to contribute to Mixxx. Idea is to promote Mixxx bu making mixes with it to people to listen and see. As said seeing is believing and hearing is also that but this time no contest. Bi-monthly mixtape length C-casette one side which is 45 minutes that is roughly about 10-15 songs (ok I listened C-casette mixes when I was younger and its ideal length if you ask me) exclusive made with newest version of Mixxx and have at least one song that in open. Mixxx should open channel to Spreaker or Mixcloud where those mixes are uploaded and if Dj is capable to do so best would be to do the same as those let's play videos or blender tutorials are done have video for Youtube how this mix was made (Those mixes should only contain songs that are open to use because I don't know is Copyright music allowed in Youtube in da mix) so everyone can see what Mixxx is capable of. What we need is 6 Dj:s per year and someone (probably me hopefully someone else too) for seeking them. I believe there is enough Dj that wants to get into this so problem would be more like finding best of them. Music styles can be anything as long as they are interesting and made with Mixxx.
It would be cool if we can discuss this and if the is enough interest get this party going before 1.12 (which can be 2 years ahead:).
