What release are you shooting for with the Wix installer? Mixxx 2.0 supports XP/Vista but it is probably the last one that will do so.
Once we switch to Qt5 we lose Vista/XP support from Qt and so we'll probably rebuild all of our libraries without platform support for v120_xp (the last Windows platform SDK that supports XP). Which I'm pretty sure means Mixxx will fail to start completely on XP so it's not worth wasting the user's time installing the program just to crash. It would still be possible with hacks but that would most likely require building from source so I'm not sure the installer is going to help.
