About compatibility: I think we just can add attribute to wanted WidgetGroups to enable children reorder functionality and leave old behaviour for WidgetGroups without that attribute so this feature should be compatible with all existing skins. I add this to proposal.
About timeline: i need some time to learn how widget addition process in Mixxx skin engine works so approximately 2/5 of available time goes to learning this, 2/5 to actually coding and 1/5 to markup skin (because I can do this fast).
