I've got a bunch of HI8 tapes from an overseas trip. I also have the following:
1) Iomega BUZ in a dual-boot WIN98/Mandrake Linux 466 celeron box. 2) WINTV Happauge in a WIN2K 800 mhz p3 box. I tried capturing the tapes directly from my Sony camcorder to the Iomega buz S-VIDEO input, but even at 200k/frame (the highest MJPEG quality) I wasn't satisfied with the result. Do I need better capturing hardware? If so what are my choices? Is the speed of those two boxes enough to do lossless capturing under certain circumstances? How do I tweak the BUZ capturing under Linux with mjpeg tools/lavrec and/or under WIN98? Any and all advise/wisdom would be great. Right now I'm thinking I should wait until I can save up for a MINIDV camcorder (any advise on these?) and transfer it that way, or perhaps get a really nice quality analog capture board - but I need advise on that too. ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by:ThinkGeek Welcome to geek heaven. http://thinkgeek.com/sf _______________________________________________ Mjpeg-users mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/mjpeg-users
