I've bought my ADVC-100s from www.tristatecamera.com (yes, one for me
and another for a fellow convert ;)). Good place to business with
and the price is slightly discounted to $269 from the list of $299.
A ieee1394 card can be found for $20 to $40 depending where you shop.
The Canopus comes with a nice cable so you don't need to pick one
up separately.
