Subject: Need Help

I would very much appreciate your assistance. I am looking for a
combination hardware/software system that will allow me to capture live
audio and video on my Linux Laptop. The sources have standard composite
video and analog audio (e.g. "RCA" type jacks). First and formost I need
to record it for archiving, which will be done on CD-ROMs. Ideally, it
would add a date/time stamp to the video, and allow recording directly
to the CD-ROM, but this is optional (I expect I will have to record to
the Hard Drive and then transfer the information). Obviously,
compression is of significant importance, though it could occur at a
later time if necessary.

I have a PCMCIA slot available, along with FireWire and USB. The system
is a 2.4 GHz Pentium 4 running RedHat 9.0.

Thank you very much for your help, and hopefully, fast response.

Ken
