I use:

lavrec -a 0 -i p -t 30 -f j dutt.jpeg


Right now I use a temporary solution to my problem by finding and
installing another old (but slightly newer) driver I found  - version
0.0.4 I believe - that both works and has the code to use himem. I would
of course greatly prefer to use the new driver, not the least because
that would be the one to use when we move over to 2.6.
