Thanks. That's what I'd heard in the past (which is why my desktop

Well, maybe not everywhere, but it usually doesn't hurt.

Ah right. That hadn't occured to me -- but I guess I thought it
was a possibility, since I at least thought to ask the question.

Doesn't the Canopus have a 4 pin cable? Maybe it has both -- I don't
know, I'm at home, and it's at work on my existing system, but I seem
to recall using a 4-pin connection on the Canopus.

Well, if JVC would put the manual online, I guess it'd be easier to
figure out, but all the relevant discussions on google groups don't
address this issue. I may forgo the Canopus for now, since I'll
probably have other means of doing A/V to DV conversion, and I don't
want to stretch the budget too far.
