Okay, I thought I read somewhere that the combined audio and video bitrates
should not exceed 2600 kbps, but I now see that it is 2756 kbps.

If you say "much higher rates", what should I be thinking of? Or is this
really very player dependend? Does anybody know of a list of player specs?

Okay, but in case I do it in one step, what will bitrate will the
resulting mp2 audio be? 256? (2756-2500?) And will it have been resampled
at 44100?
