The one key bit of information that's needed is the version of
glibc that is being used.
The malloc issue is a known problem and is caused by bugs in the
posix_memalign function in older glibc versions. There is an attempt
at a fix in the CVS version of mjpegtools - if you could try that
it would be very helpful.
