That depends on what options you have used. A XP1400 should be able to record at full size, if you use the jpeg-mmx from SF and not the default jpeg libary. When you use the jpeg-mmx the decoding of a frame takes only halfe the time. And something similair for encoding of the images.
Have you tried recording at halfe size ? Or to the file /dev/null to see if it is harddsik related problem. Or without sound, and looked if the porbems still remain. > After some more tries (I did not manage to record with audio with > mencoder and with ffmpeg), I ended up using nuppelrec (from nvrec), > using mplayer to convert it to yuv4mpeg+wav, and from there on I > went back to the mjpegtools to convert it further (converting it > first with yuv2lav and lavaddwav, to edit it with glav). With ExportVideo comes a thing that can directly export the video to yuv and wav: http://131.130.199.155/~aoe/mystuff/mpeg2_movie-avipatch/mpeg2_movie-avi.html > Now, I would really like to eliminate one or two of those step. (part of the xawtv package) That tool can also record a mjpeg encoded AVI. But has the kown 2GB filesize limit. > Is there such a tool? Or could either nuppelrec or lavrec be easily > modified for this task? yuvwavrec? Not really, I think. auf hoffentlich bald, Berni the Chaos of Woodquarter Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] www: http://www.lysator.liu.se/~gz/bernhard ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by: IBM Linux Tutorials Free Linux tutorial presented by Daniel Robbins, President and CEO of GenToo technologies.
