That may be so, but it turns out that mine don't, so I had bought both -R and -RW disks that will probably be fine for data, but no good at all for this job. I've got a pack of +R disks now, and I'll get some +RW ones.

In fact I have hardly done any dvd burning at all. The one short video dvd that I burned was done with k3b, but somehow I can't get comfortable with k3b. I use xcdroast for my data backups. I shall have to learn more about growisofs, I expect, but for this purpose at least I will stick to the CLI.
