Do you have the SDL packages installed? As I recall the configure
check for video4linux has 2 dependencies - the kernel support _and_
the SDL. If you look in configure.ac you'll see:
have_v4l_or_sdl=false
if test x$have_video4linux = xtrue; then
have_v4l_or_sdl=true
else
if test x$have_sdl = xtrue; then
have_v4l_or_sdl=true
fi
fi
AM_CONDITIONAL(HAVE_V4L_OR_SDL, test x$have_v4l_or_sdl = xtrue)
and it think that might be what is causing your problem.
