I have since advanced somewhat. Since I have manually loaded the kernel module with the "card=3" option, I get the following error: $ lavrec -d 2 -i P -a 0 test.avi **ERROR: [lavrec] Error getting video parameters: Invalid argument **ERROR: [lavrec] Something went wrong while setting up the card Creating a symlink doesn't help any, nor does setting LAV_VIDEO_DEV=/dev/video0 before calling lavrec.
