>From what I can tell, the 1.8L cars came to the USA with Bosch F6DTC 3-electrode plugs. The 2.0L cars came with Bosch F6DSR single-electrode "silver-tip" plugs. According to the local parts dude, the only advantage to the multiple-electrode plugs is longer service life; no power gains. Seems telling that VW ditched the 3-electrode design in favor of a single when upping the motor from 1.8 to 2.0 in 1990-92. Anyone have any test results of the different plug styles?
