I rented a Peugeot 805 or 806 (I don't remember now) minivan in Spain. It
was really cool. Lots of room for 6 people, and plenty of power with
everyone loaded in. It had dual sliding doors, a 4 cyl motor, and mirrors
that you could tuck in when the streets got too narrow, as they often did.

The best part, It was a 5 speed!!! It had a stick shift on the dash half
way between the windshield and the floor. When driving back from Grenada,
the speed limit was something like 80mph. A big Benz and a 7 series BMW,
both with German tags flew by. I downshifted and was running at 95 mph with
them for a while. I had to slow down for the corners that they just hugged.
Lots of fun.

: My only ride in a Eurovan was last year; it was one of a hotel's fleet of
: vehicles used to take guests to/from the airport and other places. Two of
: us were carrying our luggage and several VERY large boxes of the plastic
: components we had gotten from the new molds we had been having tested and
: approved: the cause of our trip. Each box was about 30 inches on a side,
: nearly a perfect cube. ONE wouldn't have fit into the trunk of any
: ordinary car. The Eurovan swallowed it all, easily, and it kept up with
: traffic on the freeway as well as it threaded through the incredibly
: crowded and narrow alleyways of downtown Taipei, Taiwan. I don't speak
: enough Chinese, so couldn't find out which motor it carried. It seemed to
: have as much get-up-and-go as my wife's Plymouth Voyager with the V-6. I
: was quite impressed! Didn't get to find out whether it would have been as
: fast with the air conditioning running, since it was "winter" (got clear
: down to 46 Fahrenheit, only 3 degrees above the all-time historic record,
: while we were there. The locals were suffering terribly!). Most of the
: rest of the hotel fleet was Mercedes and BMW, and not the low-end models,
: either.
