I post this solution every once in a while.  I had the same problem as
the 'common hesitation problem' seen on the list.  After 9 months of
replacing parts (everything from the DPR (BTW- never goes bad), to hall
senders, to knock sensors), the problem ended up being in my knock
sensor ecu.  Even when all of the tests are performed from the bentley,
the ECU will pass even if its shot.  The ECU has a switch inside to
measure the amount of vacuum the engine is creating, and therefore
adjusting the timing accordingly.  Well, this switch/sensor goes bad
often.  Unfortunately, the only solution is to replace it all.  If you
have access to a used/good knock ECU (the one on the right
side/passenger side), swap it out, I guarantee it fixes 60% of everyones
hesitation problems.
