Only GTI and GLI models came with a rear bar. The factory bar is mounted
inside the beam axle in the rear, and you can't really see it from
underneath. Just find a GTI/GLI at the wrecking yard, and look in the beam
axle from the side. You could probably pick one up for next to nothing,
since the junk yard dudes probably won't even know what it is. Come to
think of it, the factory bars MAY be welded in, so pulling one may require
cutting some welds, as well as welding it in on your car.
FYI, the factory rear bar isn't going to add too much in the way of roll
stiffness - I run Neuspeed 28mm bars in the rear of my GTI's, as well as a
25mm front Neuspeed bar.
