Considering the "rarity" of R12, you may want to have it removed and
sell it to a professional shop.  Before you pull the AC compressor,
you may want to purchase an alternator bracket for non-AC cars -
figure about $120 US for the part.  It's significantly lighter than
the monstrous AC bracket.
