OK, there appears to be a bit of egg on my face. Thanks for clarifying the test criteria. Not many folks have access to radar units, even when there is a cop around. I'm quite impressed that the 944 did 180 with minimal mods. I wonder how long that motor lasted! :-) it must have been turning out serious HP. Strapping yourself to a rocket is more fun than you might think, if you've never tried it. Most people will never know what it's like to do a mid-10 second 1/4 mile, or go 150 mph- **on a regular basis**. Bikes make that easily possible for well under $10k. (Try that with any car.) The trick is learning how to ride well before pushing the limits. Dave mentioned driving VW's because they have soul. Which is exactly the reason I ride the bike. It's hard to describe what it's like to drag your knee through a sweeper at over 100mph at full lean; especially to car guys. And, this is a biggie- cars lean the wrong way!! (Brice will understand, if nobody else does... ;-) -Dave 2 <some German cars and a Jap bike> ---------- >From: "alpacino" <[email protected]> >Date: Tue, Jan 25, 2000, 10:09 PM > > well i assume incorrectly thinking if we brought a trooper out that everyone > would expect the gun bit...my error. yes it was radared. i did also fail to > mention it is modded too . chips and 1.0 bar of boost with flowed intake > ....thats it. about 400 bucks in mods wich i think are well worth it if i > had one. yeah bikes are funny btw. although the joy of straping myself to a > rocket is really limited. > > -----Original Message----- > From: Dave M. <[email protected]> > Subject: Top speeds - reality check bounced > > >>Just a quick note on the ultrafast 944.
