Definitely clockwise to turn it back in.  As to the size, I can tell you it's 
the same size as the oil drain plug on an '82 Fiat X-1/9, because I think I 
used the same allen wrench on both...  I think that's 7 or 8 mm, but can't be 
sure.  You could measure after you have the caliper off.
