Do the euro spec GTI lights have this rear fog space as well or just the
jetta lights? I thought only the Jetta lights came this way and the euro
GTIs came with that lower rear fog.

Too bad everybody is out of them. I called him up, as well as the guys at
velocity.. they really don't have much stock on the A2 taillights
now. The cheapest option is the half red half smoked ones, at about $125
a pair. The reason the red/clear ones are so pricey is that they are
actually european taillights... It's pretty easy to tell the difference,
check out my cheezy ascii art:

The european ones have the spot for the rear fog light that is
ever-so-trendy. Only prob is that you have to splice in new bulb
holders... what a pain in the ass.
