Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who has helped with my cars problem.. I pulled out my bentley manual this morning and did a little trouble shooting and found that my Thermotime switch had failed. I did replace this a little less than a year ago and it was a bosch part, oh well I guess everything is bound to fail at one point or another. I also checked around a bit more and found that the TEPO(The Evil Previous Owner) had wired the Potentiometer located on top of the airbox incorrectly. I'll fix this tomorrow, this might be the cause of the car loosing power when I floor it...
I read in some of the past posts of people talking about Mexican VW's I couldnt agree more, If I was to do it all over again I'd go with the German version. So far I'm at around $3K in repairs. I think TEPO might have had something to do with my car too though.... __|__ __|__ /_____\ Jason Neuman /_____\ /_______\ '89 VW GTI /_______\ Oo x oO Portland, OR Oo x oO [] [] [] [] **If you don't like being stared at I suggest you buy a honda!** _____________ List Sponsor: http://www.netsville.com To remove yourself from this list, send mail to [email protected] with 'unsubscribe a2_16v' in the body of your message See us on the web at http://www.a2-16v.com Visit the 16V Homepage at http://www.gti16v.org
