OK, this probably just going to provoke lots of laughter, but: If anybody wants a charcoal'84 GLI (8v) with about 180K on it, a dead battery, no front seat, a gas leak (not in the tank), no radio (though it could be arranged), and no antenna (oh, and at least $1500 worth of repairs to both engine and body), then drop me a line! It can be yours for the price of a beer and towing. Or just towing.
It was a fantastic car that made it from Boston to Seattle and back with no problems, only to be smashed into by a newer jetta (a 91, maybe) right after thanksgiving. i actually called to have it towed about a month ago, and the junk guys have yet to pick it up. i was hoping it would get towed during the recent snow emergency, but no luck.
