Subject: Is my distributor bad?
Date: Thu, 3 Feb 2000 16:55:18 -0800 (PST)

My car is having a problem where it sputters at loww
RPMs and then picks up and runs fine after about 3000
RPMs. I advanced the timing a little bit and it made
it better, although it still does it. I talked to a
German guy and explained him the problem asked if it
was my hall sender. He said that sounded right and he
doesnt sell the sender but rather the whole
distributor for $200. I was wondering if you guys
think i could get it cheaper or possibly think it's
something else. If not, how do I know its definatly
the distributor thats shot? I know all my vacuum
lines, plugs, plug wires, cap, rotor, and intake boot
are all in good shape because I checked them all.
Thanx for the help.
