My JE's went in in fall 99 and they still made the dieseling sound when
cold.

Is it also no longer true that forged pistons only last 40k miles or
so?
I remember reading that a while back.

If not I'l consider going that route when I have to eventually rebuild
my Corrado's motor.

Actually I talked to JE about that. The newest forged pistons don't
have
the expansion problems that older ones do. They don't even have the
common
dieseling noise that earlier forged pistons made when they were cold.
Needless to say I am going with JE pistons that are costing around $400

plus
$100 or so for rings. Potterman will sell you .020 factory oversize
pistons
for $450 INCLUDING rings. Hope that helps!
