With a hot summer being expected, I swapped my perfectly good radiator with a 10cm bigger 2nd hand radiator off a 1995 Golf. My car would go way past the LED in spirited driving or autoX's (oil up to 110C). I never thought 10cm of width would make a difference but I am now having a hard time getting past the LED even if I drive the crap out of the car. Oil hasn't gone above 98C even when ambient temps were 30+C. Car is standard but without PAS and AC. Don't know whether the age of the radiator or the size played a bigger role but an amazing upgrade IMHO.
