Yeah, that's a big concern right now... currently most plastics are made from 
oil.  There are natural sources... like the shells from shrimp, prawns, and the 
like can be used along with some
plants.  It would be a huge problems though.  Look for products with plastic in 
them to get expensive real fast as well.

IMHO we should start to move away from non-renewable sources of fuel.  Oil
is great, but we will run out of it some day.  That'll suck, because then
vintage cars won't have gas for racing.

One other question:  what happens to polymers if the oil supply ever runs
out?  Can they make plastics without oil???
