Since I found a dealer willing to do this under recall, are there any other
recalls that I should know about. When I called the 3 local dealers I got
different stories. The first dealer said the heater core was already done
and they would not do it again and said another recall was noted but didn't
know what it was. The second dealer couldn't find anything on the heater
core but turned up 2 other recalls. One was done which related to the idle
screw and the other which wasn't done. This was related to rewiring the 02
sensor so that it wouldn't knock under load or something like that. The
last dealer is going to replace my heater core but haven't called me back
about any other possible recalls. Sorry for the long post. Thanks.

That was me... on my previous '89 Hedious Blue GLI.
I just called all the dealers and it just happened that
the one closest to my house (the last one called) did it
under warranty. The service manager stated that they'd
do all heater cores under warranty no matter how many
times it's been done. He said that all he had to do was to write
up the failure being "related" to the recall...

than once. What did you do to have this done? I called one dealership and
they said that they would not do it since it was done in '92 by the

owner. If I can't get it done, how hard is it to replace? I have AC in my
