Yesterday I took on the task of changing the control arm bushings and while I was down there I noticed that one of my Tie-Rod ends had a broken boot and both boots covering the inner tie-rod were torn.
I've decided to replace both outer tie-rod ends and both inner boots. The ball joints look fine but I'm contemplating changing them just to be sure. ***Should I replace the ball joints while I'm there?*** Is there any specific brand of ball joint or tie-rod end I should look for? I want to get good quality parts and I don't really want to go to the dealer to get them. From anyone's experience is any one brand tie-rod end or ball joint any better than another? Does anyone know the OE manufactures for tie-rod ends or ball joints? What should I use to clean and lube inner tie-rods before installing the new boots?
