I have an '88 GTI w/ a 2.0 longblock, CIS-E and them really bad idle
problems, rough idle and it stalls @ every light as soon as you press the
clutch. I've read everything in the archives about fuel/air mixture and how
to set the idle. Along the way I managed to get a salvaged 1.8 longblock,
for parts and eventually the head. The 2.0 throttle body is very different
from the 1.8, first and most important it has no idle-adjust screw, it also
opens both stages at the same time, it has a potentiometer instead of the
micro switches for idle and full throttle. As I write this I'm convincing
myself that I should go with the 1.8. Any thoughts?

Steve

PS the injectors look the same but have different threads ( not
interchangeable). Are they different performance wise?
